World Breastfeeding Week Discount for the month of August 2011 25% Off all purchases at www.mummyhoney.com.au

Jennifer Spreckley - Tuesday, August 02, 2011

World Breastfeeding Week is celebrated every year from 1 to 7 August in more than 120 countries to encourage breastfeeding and improve the health of babies around the world. It commemorates the Innocenti Declaration made by WHO and UNICEF policy-makers in August 1990 to protect, promote and support breastfeeding.

ABA spokesperson Karen Ingram says, 'World Breastfeeding Week is important because it highlights breastfeeding in a local and global context. This year's theme, Breastfeeding - It's Time to Talk, will draw attention to communication that can make a difference - between generations, neighbours, workplaces, health professionals, schools and politicians - in fact, everyone in our community. We encourage all methods of communication from the tried and true face-to-face conversation to the range of methods we have at our fingertips'.

To help celebrate the week Mummy Honey are offering 25% off all purchases for the entire month of August.

Just enter August in the discount code box at the checkout and 25% will be taken off the total price.

Yummy Chorizo Pasta Sauce

Jennifer Spreckley - Wednesday, August 04, 2010
Well it's been a while since I've written in the blog and I blame three little girls for that!! The newest member has settled in and is getting lots of love from her older sisters. I've been rocking my shirts and they are getting a decent workout.

Plans are to increase the Mummy Honey range in the next few months with the great maternity shirt and adding a colour and more sizes to our original design, so hopefully all going well we will have the new shirts available before summer arrives!!

Made a fantastic dinner last night, if I do say so myself and just had to share the recipe mixed a couple of recipes I found on the net together and came up with a keeper. Didn't serve this up to the girls but I'm sure if you omit the chillies they would love it too.

Yummy Chorizo Pasta – serves 4

2 Red Capsicums

4 Tomatoes halved

Olive Oil

Salt & Pepper

1/3 cup Basil Leaves

1 Stalk fresh or dried Rosemary

3 Garlic Cloves (1 whole and 2 crushed)

2 Chorizo Sausages sliced approx 3mm thickness

3 Anchovies

1 Birdseye Chilli finely chopped (optional)

250ml cooking cream

Extra shredded basil for serving

Pasta of choice (I used a large packet of fresh fettuccine from the supermarket)

Directions:

Pre prep sauce base – this part can be done hours or even the day before!

Heat oven to 200C, place capsicums whole and halved tomatoes on a baking tray drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper, bake in oven for 1 hour, when done take out of oven and let cool, when cool peel the skin off the capsicums and de-seed, place capsicum flesh and tomatoes in a food processor or blender, add one clove of garlic, 1/3 cup basil leaves and leaves from rosemary stalk and blend til smooth. (Place in fridge if not using till next day)

Place water on to boil for pasta.

Heat a deep fry pan on the stove to hot, add chorizo and fry for approx 3 mins, till fat starts to render and chorizo looks nice and golden brown. Remove chorizo to a plate keeping fat in pan and add anchovies, crushed garlic and chilli to the pan, fry until garlic is golden and anchovies have dissolved, add the blended sauce made earlier and reduce heat to medium, add cooked chorizos and stir.

Cook pasta as per directions.

Add cream to pan a few minutes before pasta is ready and bring to a simmer, reduce heat till pasta is ready.

Serve pasta on a plate then add chorizo sauce on top, sprinkle fresh shredded basil on top and serve. f

Yummy Yummy Yummy!!

Another successful baby shower

Jennifer Spreckley - Tuesday, April 20, 2010
A friend went along to a work colleagues baby shower at the weekend, with the ideal gift for any soon to be mum in hand - a Mummy Honey breastfeeding shirt. My friend commented at the great reaction she got from all attending and how it was great to be able to give a pressie that wasn't the usual baby things. Another satisfied mum-to-be who's now looking forward to bonding with her baby without feeling conscious of exposing herself whilst breastfeeding.

Our breastfeeding shirts are a great gift idea for any new mum.

Maternity Shirt coming soon

Jennifer Spreckley - Thursday, April 15, 2010

We are currently in the process of manufacturing a new design for the Mummy Honey Label. It incorporates our patented breastfeeding easy access via the invisible zips that run over the breasts, but will be able to be worn all throughout pregnancy and for as long after as you want or need.

The shirt is designed to increase or decrease in size with your belly and is so flattering that post-partum tummy won't be an issue at all. We are looking to manufacture is in black, white, red and grey, any colour suggestions are most welcome. All the best Jen and the Mummy Honey team.
